  • Male baboons found to engage in feticide

    • Summary: In study taking place in Amboseli basin, Kenya, baboon males were shown to engage in infanticide. The attack generally occurred in times of scare resources, when new males achieved high status, or when a male remained with a new group for more than three months. Females were violently attacked causing the mother to abort the fetus. Some mothers were killed, however the females that did survive did so because they mated with attacker
